All dates are Wednesday evenings. More info at www.carolinatt.org for the Carolina Cycling Time Trial Association. There are 3 levels of riders and riders are placed in a level based on experience. Weekend riders, Triathletes, USCF Licensed Racers. It is a good way for new riders or experienced riders to give Time Trials a whirl in a safe environment.
Looking for non-racing events? If you are looking for non-racing event rides look up www.ncdot.org. At the bottom of the main page, lower right, click on Bicycle/Pedestrian for a calender of monthly events and rides. Plan out your year and set a training goal. Maybe your goal is to finish the Tour de Moore ride on Labor day, 28 mile, 50 mile or 103 mile. Start traing now and plan rides to prepare you for your goal in September!
New to Cycling? Visit Road ID's website for Rules of the Road. Click on their "Rules of the Road" bar on the left hand side of the page for a great review on how to be safe on the road and when riding with a group of riders.
Also at www.ncdot.org
you can find Rules of the Road, Safety Tips and other items of interest to everyday cyclist.
For USCF sanctioned racing events visit Carolinas Cycling Association @ www.ncsccyclingassoc.com. On their website is the calender for all USCF scheduled races.
Track racing or training? Try Asheville Mellowdrome @ mellowdrome.com. This is a velodrome in Asheville, NC that has weekely racing and training times. Fixed gear bike required, 500 meter track with banking 4-8 degrees, a truly mellow velodrome. Rock Hill, SC will soon have a new velodrome. Opening Dec 2011? This will be a shorter and steeper banked track.
I have emailed with the folks in Rock Hill, SC. They state that construction has begun for the 250 meter Velodrome. Planned opening is December 2011.
